I have a pet corn snake that is at least a half a year old now. Every time he/she (don’t know the gender) sheds, I get curious if she can still see well during those couple of days that her eye lenses get cloudy. I always think that I might be scaring her when I play with her on those days, however she doesn’t act any different. Just curious, wanted to see if someone knew. Thanks!

They can see but its cloudy. I hold mine during this time (I think they learn to trust you more). You can tell if its scaring her cause she will breathe heavy, move fast and have a rapid heart rate.

Yea when snakes are about to shed and their eyes get cloudy, they cannot see very well so they are more nervous and skittish. They are more likely to be aggressive during this phase from being startled. I still pick mine up at this time though because he doesnt try to bite me and he acts the same. So it would be safe to pick your snake up if it shows no signs of aggressiveness. People usually do not recommend this, but if there is no threat you can pick it up.
