How do I make my windows 7 desktop icons stay in place?

I changed some setting like a week ago now like every time I open a new program or restart my computer my icons are moved around, how to I fix this? There not even in alphabetical order or anything. I think I locked my icons or something..

  right click on your screen and pick how you want them

  Right click on an empty space at desktop. click arrange icons by <> uncheck auto arrange <> check
  align to Grid.
